Ilembe District Municipality Mayor, Cllr. Thobani Shandu and the Mayor of Maphumulo Local Municipality Cllr. Matozi Zibuyisile MaKhuzwayo Dlamini joined by their Deputy Mayors and iLembe Speaker accompanied Minister of Water and Sanitation, Mr Senzo Mchunu for an in-loco inspection of the work to upgrade the Maphumulo Water Treatment Works from the current treatment capacity of 6 megalitres to 12 megalitres per day. This in-loco inspection follows the various communication between the District Mayor and the Minister regarding challenges being faced regarding water supply in Maphumulo and the greater District.
