Lemihlangano yombiko wokusebenza kukaMasipala weSifunda iLembe wenziwa ngokulandela umthetho olawula omasipala – gokweSigaba 126 (1) se-Municipal Finance Management Act No 56 of 2003 (MFMA).

“NgokoMthetho Wezinhlelo Zomasipala umbiko wonyaka wathulwa iMeya wavunyelwa umkhandlu wabe usuyakhangiswa ngokushesha ukuze umphakathi uphawule ngawo. Emuva kokuthi umphakathi ubambe elawo iqhaza  amaphuzo omphakathi ayothathwa i-MPAC lapho asetshenziswe uma sekuphothulwa umbiko wokwengamela,” kuchaza uVallen.

“Ngokuhambisana nomthetho wokuphathwa kwezimali zomasipala (i-MFMA) umbiko wethu wonyaka uhlanganisa izitatimende zezimali zonyaka zikamasipala kanye nezitatimende zezimali zonyaka ezihlanganisiwe, ezathunyelwa kumcwaningimabhuku-jikelele ukuze zihlolwe ngokweSigaba 126 (1) se-MFMA,” kusho uShandu.

Okunye okutholakalayo ilokhu okulandelayo;

  1.   Umbiko wokucwaninga woMcwaningimabhuku Jikelele ngokweSigaba 126 (3) se-MFMA neSigaba 45 (b) se-MSA, ngezitatimende zezimali ezishiwo ngenhla.
  2.   Umbiko Wokusebenza Wonyaka kaMasipala njengoba ulungiselelwe nguMasipala wesiFunda iLembe ngokweSigaba 45(b) soMthetho woHulumeni basekhaya: Izinhlelo zikaMasipala 32 ka-2000 (MSA).
  3.   Ukuhlolwa kwemali ekhokhwayo yentela kamasipala kanye nezinhlawulo zezinsizakalo.
  4.   Ukuhlolwa Kokusebenza kokusebenza kukaMasipala ngokumelene nezinhloso zokusebenza ezilinganisekayo okukhulunywa ngazo eSigabeni 17 (3)(b) se-MFMA ukuze kuqoqwe imali evela kumthombo ngamunye wemali engenayo kanye nevoti ngalinye kwisabelomali esivunyiwe sikamasipala sonyaka wezimali.
  5.   Izincomo zekomidi lokucwaninga ezivela kwikomidi lokucwaninga likamasipala.

Maintaining the same rank as the previous year, iLembe District clinched the 5th position, bagging 26 medals in total. The three-day games were hosted by eThekwini Metro and were contested by a total of 10 municipalities.

With the final tally said, iLembe scooped 6 gold medals for karate, 12 silvers for tennis and chess, and 8 bronze medals for football (females).

The mayor of iLembe District Municipality, Cllr Thobani Shandu was elated with the outcomes, “We’re very excited with the performance of all our teams and surely all athletes enjoyed themselves greatly; also, credit goes to the coaches and team managers. We would also like to appreciate the parents for their cooperation as well as our staff members for all the effort they exerted in these games.”
